there no way to prevent a friend from commenting on something they can see - you have to set up your posts so those friends cannot even see your post

1. Go to their accounts
2. Click the button that is to the right of Message button and has some sort of bolt type thing (this may only be this way if you have Facebook timeline)
3. Click Report/Block on the bottom
4. Click all the options that you think are necessary.

Well there are at least two things you can do.

A) Block the person/people. Ask yourself if you want them to not be able to see your profile or anything that you post. If you want to block someone, go to their timeline, go to the upper right section where it says Friends, Message and then click on the Gear symbol. Then go to the bottom and click Report/Block. Blocking someone wipes them of your view of Facebook, so if you block someone you will no longer see anything related to them, basically.

B) If you still consider these people friends but don't want them to comment/see certain posts, I believe the best alternative for this is to create lists and then post a status only to people on that list. you can easily add and remove people to lists on Facebook. Some preset ones are Close Friends, ______ High School/College/University/Workplace, Acquaintances, etc.

I am not an advocate of Google+ (G+) by any means, but if you truly want to control who you post to and your privacy settings and are looking for an alternative to Facebook, Google+ is an great alternative.

Hope this helps.

Part 1:
Login to facebook->Click the arrow down button beside the HOME->Click Privacy Settings->Click edit settings of PROFILE AND TAGGING-> Set "Review Posts friends tag you in before they appear on your profile" ON/Enable.
Also you should Enable this setting under PROFILE AND TAGGING "REVIEW TAGS Friends add to your own posts on facebook"

Part 2:
Under your privacy settings-> Click on Manage Blocking-> Click "EDIT LIST" of "Add friends to your Restricted list". Type your friends name. Please remember:

"When you add friends to your Restricted list they can only see the information and posts that you make public. Facebook does not notify your friends when you add them to your Restricted list"

Hope this will help.
