What does the # sign on Twitter mean?
I just made a Twitter and I see everone has like a # sign then words.. I have no clue what it means lol

it means if you put like for instance #patrickstump and search in twitter patrick stump, my post will show up. its useful for trending topics too! I don't know if that made sense, hope it did!

The hash mark (#) before a word in a post allows you to tag that post for that word. However, in order to get tracked via a hash tag, you need to opt-in and follow http://www.Hashtags.org.
