How should I ask this guy to homecoming?

I want to ask this guy that goes to my church, to my homecoming. He just recently found out that I like him from a friend. I want to ask him tomorrow at church, but I'm scared of rejection, because we don't talk much. We have talked a few times, but never actual conversations. He's flirted a few times if that makes a difference...
But anyways, i want to do it in a cute way. I was thinking via twitter? Any other ideas? Should I even ask him?
