How to make first talking to someone less awkward?
Okay, first off this is my brother's email. I've been talking to this dude that goes to my school on facebook. We started texting and stuff too. But we haven't officially talked in person. And he said he was gonna come up and talk to me tomorrow. And we might even go somewhere after school, like starbucks. So I was wondering how to make it less awkward when we first talk?

Oh, I know this kind of thing makes me super nervous, too.
Try laughing a lot when he says or does something funny, but don't force it or over-do it. Laughter helps people relax.
Use body language, too! Body language is so effective in making people feel more comfortable/trusting. One example is to just lightly/briefly touch his shoulder once or twice when talking to him as an interpersonal gesture.
Obviously, try not to come across as too eager or excited. It all depends on his mood too. Mirror him and feel positive and optimistic.
Good luck! Have fun!
P.S. Also talk about things you've discussed before and ask him a lot of questions.

Think of all the things you have in common, like school for example, and use those for conversation topics. That way there's an opportunity for both of you to contribute to a conversation therefore making it less awkward.
