Do iphones/blackberrys/smart phones auto locate me on googlemaps when I go different places?

I don't have a smartphone and I'm wondering if it has an "auto locate" feature on googlemaps? For example, if I go over to a relatives house, would my smartphone be able to auto locate me and tell me what street I'm on if I don't know the address? Thanks.

It does not track your movements, but for example if you'd need directions from wherever you are, you could use current location to make a route. or if you'd like to check in on facebook places. It works just like an in-car gps, but with the ability to share that information.
