Is it illegal to vist facebook at work?
I'm not doing this i'm 13, my mothers friends are at work. They work at RHCI healthcare and I was just thinking, would they get fined? They work on a network a rootkit could take them out or like koobface for facebook. Is it illegal can they get fined?

They can only get into trouble if there is a strict company policy against it.

It's not illegal -- there is no law against it.  Most workplaces, however, have an internet use policy, and you would have to check that for each individual workplace to see whether they forbid it, and if there are any consequences for going against the policy.  I doubt that a fine would be amongst the consequences.

Not really illegal. They'd be fked though if they get a virus in the computer. Facebook doesn't give viruses anyway.

I don't know about 'illegal', but certainly very likely against company policy! Therefore they could be warned, disciplined or even lose their job. The company should have an Acceptable Use Policy and I've no doubt using a rootkit will contravene the AUP.

Most professional networks have sites such as facebook, and others, blocked if they are as serious as you are thinking about keeping their workers off networking sites.
My guess is no, they wouldn't get in trouble for it, and its certainly not illegal. However, don't let the boss catch you chatting with your friends when you've got work to do Tongue
