Why am I doing horrible in High school but did great in middle?
I mean, my grades are;

Math: C+
Science: C+
Spanish: B
English: C
SS: A
Gym: A

I used to get straight A's. I used to slack, but I have changed and not seeing any results. My father gets mad non-stop and I want him to stop, he will if I get better grades, but why aren't my grades as amazing as they used to be? Can anyone help me with tips on how to do much better in High school than now?

Its a big step up from middle school to High school, some people don't adjust to it straight away talk about it with your teachers they should be able to offer you extra help where its needed or a alternative way that suits you - keep working at it im sure your grades will go up before you know it Smile !

Middle school is generally easier than high school, and you can get good grades without too much work. Most people do not do well in their freshman year of high school, but the faster you adjust, the easier your life will be.

So first, take a deep breath. Your grades weren't good first quarter, but you can go back to getting straight As, if you are prepared to work.

First, start studying. This means more than cramming the morning, or even night before a test. This means that you will study over the weekend. Studying is only effective when you use repetition. For example, studying a bit every night of the week is better than studying a lot on the night before. For studying, I like to use flashcards. A general tip though is to use multiple modes of study. For example, if you are studying a foreign language, to write the word down, say the word aloud, write the translation down, and to say the translation aloud. There you have two modes of studying: writing and speaking. For a third one, have a parent, sibling, or friend quiz you. That way you have a third mode of study: listening.

Start focusing. Most people spend a lot of time on the internet, especially on games, Facebook, or email. For good grades, delete your Facebook. It will help so much.

Read ahead. The number one trick for being smart is to read ahead in your textbook. Most people with As do it.

Don't get discouraged. The results are always worth it. Good grades in high school will get you into a good college, and in turn into a good job.

Talk to your parents about it. Tell them that you are going to make more of an effort this quarter. They will be willing to support you.

Be nice to your teachers. Its not right, but everyone plays favorites.

Good luck.

dude, I have 2 F's, 3 D's and a B+, nd high school is way harder than middle school cuz they give more homework, the material is just fucking impossible, nd the teachers hound at you more for nothing, and you're dad sounds a lot like mine. I wish I had your current grades honestly

Me too! I think the problem with me is that I procrastinate too much. The workload is about the same, too easy to use my brain much, so I put off an assignment until the last minute! You only have 6 classes? I wish I took gym class, it's so relaxing...
