They are going to run right out and watch the speech.

This whole thing is backfiring.

The kids have already posted the speech on Facebook and Twitter.
Tomorrow they are going to send the video link to their friends.
School children from Canada, England, France, Germany, Russia and Indonesia will be tuning in.

Heck he might have an audience of a billion people!

Why did the Right Wing even start this whole controversy?
When you tell a kid not to do something, what are they going to do?

I doubt that, kids generally have no interest in politics whatsoever.

When my parents told me to play in the other room during the Clinton Impeachment Hearings, I did that. Why are your kids that different?
Peace

I give more credit to parenting than that.

If I had children, I would watch it first, then if it turned out to be something that wouldn't politicize the classroom, or children, I would watch it with my children.

Then we would openly discuss it.

I will always encourage my future children to think for themselves.

And sometimes that means pulling them out of a negative influence that is being imposed in a classroom.

I agree with breaking stereo types up there. In any matter shouldn't we be happy that our children would be starting to debate at an early age. Imagine the utopian society they would devise.

That depends on if you are an effective parent or not, which lefties don't usually have to worry about. They aren't. If you are, your child will do what they are told. If not, they will be lefty hippies anyways.

My mother always let me watch presidential speeches growing up and let me form my own opinions and come to my own conclusions. I concluded that Bush was a moron. I didn't need to be indoctrinated to figure that out.

Sheltering your kids from the president only makes them closed minded. But I guess to some parents that's ideal.

Kids don't give a crap.

They care about Transformers and texting and that's about it.

they update their page on facebook.
fix their make-up
grab a bite to eat
go to the bathroom
text with friends in their cellphones
do last minute homework
chat with friends

kids do not want to pollute their minds with adult preaching. School is bad enough.
