How can I restrict what some people see of my Facebook profile?

My brother is asking to be a Facebook friend and I don't want him seeing everything I put down

There's no way to let your friends not see what you post, because it is the idea that you post for your friends, but you can simply delete him as friend, what's the big deal, say you want privacy

If you don't want him seeing your status updates, click the button to the left of the 'Post' button when you are writing a status. It should say "Friends" or "Friends of Friends." Change that to "Custom" and then type your brother's name in the 'Hide from these people' box. If you want this to be a default setting, go to your Privacy Settings, click Custom, and do the same.

You can add him then put him on a list, then go to your privacy setting and set it private to the people in that list.
