What's a good quote for someone who thinks they're having a tough time when things could be so much worse?

My sister is going through a tough time and being the biggest drama queen known to man about it. She has it rough, but I have it way worse, and then there are people who have it way worse than me. Also, she's making a big deal about it for no reason. I want to send her a quote without calling her out because the last time I did she got mad. So I'd rather post it as a Facebook status to give her a hint.

Stupid!
A woman has difficulty dealing w/her son during a growth and tooth spurt, anyone would.
It doesn't make it easier to know the woman next door had triplets.
One does not have anything to do w/the other!

Oh well, at least we are not stranded on a desert island with only a coconut for company.

We could be ..... complete with a situation worse than what is going on.

Be sarcastic and say,

Oh well at least it's not (and then state whatever she is whinging about) broken hair straighteners. Now that would be a disaster!!!!
Hope that helps

I finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel, and then it turned out to be an oncoming train.

You could try "If I were to say, ''God, why me?'' about the bad things, then I should have said, ''God, why me?'' about the good things that happened in my life." -- Arthur Ashe.

That's probably a quote most of us could use, not just your sister. She's more likely to be receptive to thinking about it if it doesn't seem like it's directed at her. I also agree with the first poster who said that comparing one person's suffering to another's doesn't do much good. I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering, regardless of whether you are suffering more or less than anyone else.

Good luck to you and your sister both!
