Why would my boyfriend put me on limited profile?

So, me and my boyfriend are very close, very good relationship. I was around him when he uploaded a picture on facebook and saw some other photos (that didn't seem offensive or bad) on his profile. I didn't say anything to him. When I go to his profile on my account, certain photos are not shown, but the number of photos are the same. What is the deal? I haven't asked him or talked to him about putting me on limited profile, but why would he do this?

If they are pictures he is tagged in then you would only be able to see them if you have permission to see the albums they are in. So if most of his tagged photos are from people's albums you aren't friends with then you would be able to see them
