Do you think it's rude to visit town unannounced and as you leave you announce your visit on facebook without seeing certain friends or family? Why?
I meant announcing that you visited after you leave town to go home.

I'm not sure I think it's rude. People sometimes only have limited times and they can't make time to see everyone. They may have been in town for a specific reason (christening, wedding, etc) and knew they wouldn't be able to see everybody. Just as an aside, not the smartest thing to announce on Facebook that you're not at home. There have been a rash of robberies that originated from Facebook...so-called "friends' breaking into the person's home after they stupidly told all of their two hundred closest and dearest friends they would be gone for an extended period of time in their status.

It depends on how close your relationship is with certain friends or family & what kind of relationship you have with them. If they'd like to have seen you in town, then they probably would've considered it to be rude. If they're not too bothered about meeting you or busy, then they'd probably not care too much or be more understanding.

Yes. If you didn't want people to know you were there while you were there, then they don't need to know that you had been there (if that makes sense, lol). You probably meant to go, do your business and leave and wouldn't have time to hang out which is a good reason not to tell people. If the topic should come up or there is any important reason to now tell them, then tell them but if it doesn't come up, don't say anything.

Yes, you should really announce before you go so that people can have an opportunity to find a time to meet with you otherwise it will feel like they are being snobbed.
