Do you think Facebook encourages narcissism?
Wow Aaron. I sincerely hope your "sophomoric" tirade wasn't directed at me. In this question there was neither approval nor distain for FB.
Your response was over analytical and utterly condescending. Please take your junior college first year psychology class and shove it up your rear. Ads |

I don't think so, it just provides yet another way to communicate with friends and find new ones (if you're not concerned about internet safety.

Not necessarily. It's a good place for friends to share pictures and event info, and when you need a break from writing papers it's also pretty cool. Ideally it keeps you connected to distant relatives and friends.
I bet there are plenty of narcissists on it though. *Mirror Pic!* (I'm guilty) |

short answer: No.
long answer: No your understanding of "narcissism" is very sophomoric. Its actually the tendency of narcissistic personalities to criticize things such as facebook because they aren't included, and im thinking that you criticize those who use facebook as a ego defense mechanism to make yourself feel less rejection from a lack of social life and inclusion. Sideline: so who are you peaking of that is very into facebook that you don't really care for? and/or Why do you think your not "popular"? |

Very probably. There are far too many "What do you think of my picture" questions for Yahoo Answers.
These questions are posted either by insecure types or by those who have an overblown idea of their own attractiveness. They are just fishing for compliments. VANITY IS ALWAYS BORING ! |
