If your tweets on twitter are protected and you tweet at someone who isn't following you, can they see it?

I know that when your tweets are protected only people who follow you can see them. But what if you mention someone or reply to someone that isn't following you? Will they still not be able to see it even though you're mentioning them? Thanks.

No they will not be able to see any of your tweets. That s the point of having your tweets protected, it protects your privacy from privy eyes!
