What is the easiest way to find my Biological Father?
I was separated from my biological father at a very young age and I have been trying to locate him. I have just his first and last name along with an approximate age and I have no other resources. His name is VERY common and I am having a hard time locating him. I have been looking for about seven years now and NO LUCK! What would be the most reliable way to find a missing parent?

In genealogy, we research our ancestors not living people but sometimes you can find people on Facebook and MySpace. If that fails try:
http://find.person.superpages.com/
http://www.anywho.com/
http://www.zabasearch.com/

If they own property or have recently sold property, some states property tax records are online and a few states have probate records online. You will be able to find little else online.

You asked for the 'easiest way', but you already know it's not easy given his common name....but here's what I would do:

First, does he have a middle name or initial? That could make a difference. Search on a site like:
http://www.whitepages.com. Search for states you think he might be in. Whitepages.com gives an age range on their listings that might help you narrow things down.

Second, is there anything you can get from your OWN birth records that would give you more info on him? Anything that had his SS#? Were you baptised? Who were your godparents? Maybe he's still in touch with one of them? Was he married to your Mom? Maybe marriage records. I'd look for old friends of his that might know where he is.

Do you know what his occupation was? That could narrow things down too.
