What do you think of an employer that makes you give up your membership in social networking sites?
As a condition of employment, no twitter or facebook, IM is also banned, and so are cell phones capable of sending text messages and/or taking photos.

If they mean you're not allowed to do any of those things on site, or while you're working, I totally agree with them. Many companies have security regulations prohibiting any form of data transmission from on site. It's a legitimate and quite common condition of employment.

WHO are you working for???? What country are you in? If it's prohibited on the job, or using company resources, it's perfectly understandable, but outside the job, on your own resources...that's a different matter.
