someone is using my facebook page to gain info on me what can i do to stop them?
Earlier this afternoon someone contacted a relative of mine on Facebook and claimed to be me. They emailed her saying I won $500,000.00 dollars. My relative tried to get more info but has not been able to so far. What can I do to stop this person

mainly block them if you can because that is the only way or limit the info you give out to others.

If you know who it is, then block them and report them.
If you don't then I would suggest minimizing the amount of information on your page and changing the security settings to either 'Friends only' or 'Friends of Friends' as opposed to 'Everyone'. If it continues to happen then look towards the people in your friends list as the culprits. If they contacted your relative, was the relitive on facebook? Then if so, it is in fact your relative that should change his/her settings. I also fail to see what this person is trying to achieve by posing to be you, and saying something as stupid as that? Perhaps you have angered someone recently. If you are worried it may happen again, then I would also suggest warning those online of this. |
