Why don't boyfriends comment on their girlfriends pictures on facebook?

Is it because the boyfriend sees her a lot ? because my friends boyfriend doesnt comment on the pictures he just likes them why is that ? does every boy do that.

Granted while most won't have consciously thought into it as much as I'm about to explain their subconscious most likely has. If a boy (boyfriend or not) comments on a girl's picture it can be taken the wrong way by her and those reading the comments. A compliment could be read wrong and be seen with much more value than they wanted. Simply saying "you look nice" can turn into "he likes her", "why only nice? why not great?", "he's just saying that and doesn't really mean it" ect. More or less commenting on pictures, haircuts and other "how do I look?" related items or even on things she's taken pictures of just come off as a giant minefield of what if's. Standard guy reaction is to not say anything. If you don't say anything you can't get in trouble, is the standard idea. IMO anyways.

I think it's because they may see their Girl-friends a lot but then sometimes can't always be bothered and like the above answer , they might not want to say anything because the girl will overreact or something and in this day and age boys are different if you get what i mean they are a little more 'bad' and want to act 'cool' . so they might just mention the pic to the girlfriend when they meet up.

And also notifications if his girlfriend is popular then , if he comments on the picture or likes it when other people do the same he'll get notifications. and believe me that's annoying.
