How do I find out about someone in the army?
How do I find out when the last batch of soldiers were deployed to Afghanistan?
And
How do I know if someone is in Afghanistan?

I have doubts that my brother is in Afghanistan and I am wondering if there is anyway I can find out.
Of course asking him would be simple, but the think is, he gives us reasons to doubt his whereabouts.
Is there anyway I can go about this?

Ask for his address and mail him something.

If he is out there he will have a BFPO (British Forces Posted Overseas) address where you can send trhings to.

Alternatively there should also be a liason officer you can contact with his regiment if you need to contact him urgently.

you now his unit? check the MoD website they give you details of which units are deployed currently,
If he is in a Corps instead of Regiment then whats his attached unit, which battle-group does he say he is with?
if you are truly unsure I have friends who can get the information, but its not a Facebook kind of thing, this is the real world they are in.
If your brother wants you to worry about him, which is the only reason to fake a deployment, then maybe ho needs help
