How do people become idle automatically when they open up facebook chat?

I'm not talking about going offline on chat, I'm talking about idle, when you have the moon icon next to your name.

I'm not asking how to become idle, I tested this myself and it's ~10 minutes.

I also tested if you can log on as idle automatically if you are idle on chat and then you close and reopen chat, it makes you active again.

I read someone that if you are using facebook on a phone and you open chat then you become idle automatically, is this true?

yes beacause on the phone you canott use the instant messeging but u can not became idle on the pc with waiting ten min. sorry.

Yes, its true because on facebook you can you use instant messaging but you don't have the access of doing it on the cell and well yes sorry about that.
