Opera web browser slow relative to others?

Okay, so, I recently installed Windows 7 to my computer, and since I've done this, Opera (my favorite web browser) has been running EXTREMELY slow compared to Firefox, IE, and Chrome. So slow, in fact, that it's almost unusable. I don't know why this is happening; I've been using Opera for years, and this is the first trouble I've had with it. Any ideas?
I checked it out, and it says that I have the latest version of Opera... I really wish that would have worked

The first releases of version 10.5 were pretty bad and buggy, but 10.53 has now been released, and they seem to have sorted out most of the issues.  It's running like greased lightning again for me.

It may be worth backing up your profile and uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version, then bring back elements of your profile one at a time.  I had to do this on one of my machines when Facebook stopped working in v.10.50.
