how do i stop facebook from posting email every time someone posts something?

Check your close friends list and delete them all from your list. In that way you won't get any email from facebook when some one post something on their wall.

To do this click the below link

and then click the notification drop down icon and select only face-book instead of face-book and e-mail if you still want them in your close friends list.
or
click the drop down icon next to the manage list and then choose edit list.
(This is for removing them from your close friends list so that you won't get any e-mails)
You will see an X mark on the top right hand side of every profile. Just click them to remove.
