Pros: broadens your social network; allows you to reconnect and keep up-to-date with distanced friends & family members; a nice to way to document your memories

Cons: if you have an addictive personality, you could waste a lot of time getting caught up on these social network sites, and end up spending all day by the computer; some security risks, depending on your privacy settings
