How do you forgive people who lie?

Lately people very close to me have lied to me or about me.
1. My step mom is telling relatives I did not invite her and my dad to my wedding which is false. They said they were coming and then said they weren't because I didn't call my dad on his birthday.
2. My husband has lied regarding who he is "friending" on facebook. These are friends he'd rather me not know about.

So how can i forgive these people. Or should i.

As for your stepmother - tell her flat out that you don't appreciate it.
Your husband - not that big a deal. Tell him he can tell you what he's doing and you won't go off at him or anything. You're supposed to be friends, and friends tell each other everything.

There is no perfect way to forgive anything.
If you value either of the relationships you will get over the fibs they have told, neither of these lies seem to be very big compared to many other lies that they could be saying.
