Limited number of sockets means limited Web server access?

Hi. I was informed that there are a finite (approx 64k) number of sockets that can be opened at one time on a specific port. So if port 80 is maxed out, does that mean no more users can access the Web server? But are such sockets immediately opened and closed when grab a Web page? So pragmatically we are fine, although technically the number of concurrent sessions (are these socket sessions?) are limited?

I believe so, yes. It's highly unlikely that many clients would have an active connection at once unless you've decided to run the next Twitter from your one lone web server.
