How can I remove the tracking numbers from my Pictures. ?
I really don't want folks to track my pictures back to my facebook, twitter, or tumblr page. Is this possible. ?

Not exactly sure what you mean by "tracking numbers", but there is a file, created along with images in many digital cameras and likely 'smart phones' called " .exif ".
This file can have many things including camera make, model, and a unique serial number which identifies your camera. Smart phones may include a 'geo-tag'. Bots crawl the 'Net looking for these .exif files, and can be instructed to look for specific items. "Irfanview" is one excellent photo editor (freeware) that can display &/or modify these, and delete if needed, but no doubt there are others. Also of interest is 'face recognition'. Pittsburgh Pattern Recognition has been acquired by Google; http://techcrunch.com/2011/07/22/google-...-pittpatt/ Facebook, the world's largest social networking site, could identify people simply by their face. And Facebook's facial recognition feature is automatically turned on. Users who don't want the service must manually opt out of it. And Google is at it again: Google unveils 'Find My Face' tool for Google+ https://www.computerworld.com/s/article/...onomyId=17 And now you are toast: System Links Your Face to Your Social Security Number and Other Private Things http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/ar...hings.html Never put your picture on the Internet. Sounds insane right? Think about it... Anyone can use it, copy it, post it where you have no idea how it's being used. And all these can be used against you. Ads |
