What should i send as a text message?

Ok so my half sister had a baby yesterday. I know her but not that well so thats why i found out on facebook. Anyways idk what to say. All i can think of is Congrats but that seems kinda cheap. Whats your opinion?

Say something like "congrats on the new baby!" And if you feel comfortable, add "we should get together sometime."

Otherwise, you could send her a message on facebook instead of texting her. That would at least clue her in that you saw it on facebook.

or just put congrats and then shes going to say thank you and then you can ask what they named her and the whole ten yards

If I was you I'd simply write "Congratulations we really should meet up soon I would love to meet him/her" and see how she responds.
