On Twitter, how do I stop following somebody?

I started following somebody on Twitter, but now want to stop. How do I go about it? The Twitter help feature, is not very helpful.

on the side of the home page it will say something like "53 following". click on it and it will show the people youre following. when you find someone you want to unfollow click on the little gear button and select "unfollow"

Go onto the persons profile page who you do not wish to follow anymore, under their username and picture there will be a drop down button saying 'Lists'. Click the drop down button on the right to that which has a picture of something on it (not quite sure what it is, sorry) and then click 'Unfollow [username]'. If you want to unfollow multiple users then click on '[number] following' on the right hand side of the homepage underneath your profile picture and then simply click the same drop down button and then 'Unfollow [username] to all whom you do not wish to follow anymore. This is quicker if you want to unfollow lots people as you can just browse through your list of users you are following, however if it is just one or two then it is easiest to just unfollow them on their profile, especially if you are following a lot of people.
