What to say to a close friend you haven't talked to in a while?

And by "a while", I mean that the last time we talked was when we were in the first grade, and I am in 8th grade now. We were really close then, but I moved abroad and we lost contact. I found him on Facebook recently. What should I say to him? He was a really good friend (even though we were only six), and I would love to be close to him again.

Tell them its good to see them again
Ask them what they've been doing for the past few years
Ask them what they're into these days
Talk about the times you can remember
Tell them what's going on in your life
If you still want to stay in touch, give them your number and ask them to meet up again sometime and introduce them to your friends.

Never return to an ex. To much water has passed under the bridge, and both of you have, changed, matured and grown (perhaps apart.) You could say "Hi" and see what response you get back.
