so my mom just requested me as a friend on facebook. I'm 25, she's fragile and shouldn't be exposed to some of the pics that are out there. Yet I like the fact that others can see them is there a way I can accept her as a friend yet disallow her from viewing any of my stuff.

Ah, yes, with the growing popularity many people have had this problem of parents and other relatives adding them, particularly when said person might not want some, or most, aspects of their profile viewed by these groups of people.

I, too, have dealt with a similar issue and this is how I took care of it (read entire post before executing):

-I created a "friends group" that I titled "Family"
--This can be done by clicking the "friends" tab at the top of the facebook page and then clicking "Create New List"

-After you have done this, you hover the cursor over the "Settings" tab, do not click it, just wait for the drop-down. When it drops down, you click "Privacy Settings".

-After clicking Privacy Settings you then click "Profile" from the actual page, not the tab at the top. There will be an arrow next to it.

-When you get to this point, click "edit custom settings".

-Then you will be given a new menu, at the bottom has the "Except these people" option.

-Type in the name of the friends list you created with the people you don't want viewing the certain parts of your profle and there you have it!

Alternatively, you can go to each individual photo album with the pictures you do not want viewed, and click the album, at the top there is an "edit album" tab which you can press and THEN type in the name of the list you created. That will allow them to view albums you have, yet block the ones you don't want them to see.

Cheers!
