Can someone explain Twitter to me please?

I just made a twitter profile but I'm soooo confused by it.. can anyone give me an overview that's simple and easy to understand? Thaaanks!

its place where ppl tell others or say whole world .. that they peed 10 times today ... or say .. they got ticket for DWI ??

It's taking the status update idea of Facebook and MySpace and basing a website on it. It's meant for quick updates so your friends, family, loved ones, etc, can keep up with you easily. Or for you to share things, like quotes, readily.

Okay, twitter. oh twitter. I found it really hard at first. VERY easy now that I have been using it for a few months.

1.) Home - Home is where you can read ALL the people you follow (people u like, friends, family, celebs, ect) To follow some1 search them on yahoo ex. "Miley Cyrus on twitter" and their page should come up. Then click it. Then click "FOLLOW" button under their picture. Then everytime MILEY posts on twitter, it will display on ur "HOME page" then ur profile, will post whatever you post. To post you type ur post on the HOME page. Let me know if u need any more help.

I found Twitter pretty bizarre too, when I first used it.

But basically it's another social networking site that allows you to keep updated on a minute by minute basis on everything your friends are doing. Unlike a blog or any other social networking site, it limits your updates to 140 characters, so it is essentially like a "tweet."
