How to start building a culture?

I know this question sounds larger than life but I want to start inspiring people of my country. I feel there is a sense of lost identity amongst them and as a first step I want to use Twitter and Facebook to do this. Please tell me what is a good way to start or if there is a book you can recommend? Will creating a manifesto help?

you can't, culture just happens naturally. in the past world leaders have tried to dictate the direction of culture but if public opinion is not on their side, they will not be able to build or change a culture in their image.

Cultures are born from people who share the same ideas, beliefs and way of life. You will have to do more than read a book and tweet about it. People listen when you can provide solutions to problems that concern them directly.

culture necessarily evolves when a society begins to form...as you are already a part of society.. you can form a specialized focus group based on an issue or theme and this group can have a "sub culture" in which you may have a greater role to play...

It means if you've the ideas and concepts you can form a Group and if that Group becomes powerful enough and develops a strong sub culture it can influence the culture of the larger society....
