How can i ask politely and mataurly for people to leave us alone.?
My ex and I live in a small town so everyone is in your business 24/7. We had our problems and now are finally talking. We have a 4 year old son together, since we were both not thinking what was best for our son, our arguing ruined the relationship of my ex and our son. They don't know each other. We finally want to make it rright. But people keep saying stuff on facebook about us trying to get us to fight

Crystal,
this is a family matter, what purpose do others have in it? Look, here is what you should do, if you meet these people on a daily bases, explain to them that you don't want your son reading the Fb posts and they shouldn't say these things, if still they don't listen, fb didn't invent the "un friend" option for no reason, so do that. Secondly, I would suggest taking it slow, letting your son hang out with his father for small events like two should watch a movie together, play ball or whatever your son likes doing.

Well you all have to decide what is more important to you, trying to mend the fence between your ex and your son that you share together, or a social web site like facebook. If this is where all of the bothersome people are causing the most trouble for you then the most obvious solution would be to drop facebook. Who cares what they are saying on there about you guys if you are not on there to see it and read it. People are always going to talk, doesn't matter if you live in a big city or a small town, hell I don't know anyone around us except for family, and yet the family is the one who always seems to be talking sht. That is just the way it is and you and your ex need to get over it and work on whatever is necessary to resolve the distance between him and his son. I know I would never let what people say on facebook or any place else get in between me and and a good relationship with my kids.

If you are mostly being harassed on FB - then delete your accounts. People will often do stuff on the internet they would never do to your face. It will all die down much quicker if FB is not in the picture.

Easy answer!

Don't live your life on Facebook. What people don't know about, they can't comment about.

You're an adult now, a mother. Why are you even paying attention to facebook? Just delete your account and move on. You have better things to do.
