how to remove a friend from facebook?

i have added a friend in facebook..but i dont want to remove him...
and i have many relatives in facebook.... so what i chat with my frnds are they able to see that....reply plz...thank u

Go to the person's profile. Scroll all the way down and click "Remove from Friends".

it seems that u r new to internet . Well, not chats, but comments and posts will be visible to your relatives .
To delete, goto Account->edit frnds on top right .

Sorry, there isnt a way to remove someone to seeing your wall without removing him/her as friend

You can go to that person's facebook profile and scroll down on the side that their picture is on and it says "Remove From Friends" Click that and they're gone. Or you can go to your friends list and type in their name and click the X beside their name and it will remove them.

If you would like to remove a friend, navigate to the person’s profile and click the "Remove from Friends" link at the bottom of the page. If you select this option, you will be removed from the person's Friends List as well. You will need to repeat the friend confirmation process if you wish to be friends with this person again.

If you want to remove a friend on Facebook, go to the upper right corner and click account, and edit friends. Under lists click on friends, find the friend and click on the X next to them.

You can also edit your privacy settings so certain people can not see posts on your wall. Go to account, privacy settings, and click on customize settings. For example if you do not wish someone to see your friend's posts on your wall, under "Things other share" click on the option next to "Can see Wall posts by friends" click custom. And you can enter a name to hide the posts from.

Also you can make a list for convenience. Go back to your friends, and click on "friends" under lists. Create a new list and add all your relatives or people you want to hide posts from, and when customizing your privacy settings you can add the whole list instead of individual friends.

Sorry, there isnt a way to remove someone without removing him/her as friend. You can only stop them seeing your chat if you remove as a friend unforunatly.
