Maintaining a relationship with siblings cross country?
I've recently moved to NC and my family is in Alaska. My brothers are 10 and 12 years younger than me and are getting ready to enter their teens. It kills me to not be there at such a important time in their lives. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas how I can still "be there" for them and make them know that they're still important to me? I can tell they feel slightly abandoned and I don't want them to feel that way at all. I want to maintain a closeness even if I'm thousand of miles away.

I feel really sorry for you but keep in contact by using social networking sites
examples: Facebook, twitter, msn, e-mailing and yahoo obviously! Also you can send letters or write a blog for free (an online diary) so they know what is happening in your life they can comment on you and share advice. Post letters and exchange e-mails. Call them up to. Don't forget eachother!!!! Ads |

Skype a lot! Also they're probably into video games - it'd mean a lot to them if you got into a game with them and played them online. Get a headset and stuff - it's a great bonding experience!
Maybe try Minecraft, it's cheap, creative and appeals to all ages and sexes! |
