How to get notifications from applications on facebook?

I used to get notifications from friends exposed when someone commented on one of my answers, but i don't anymore, does anyone know how to get them back?

First, Click the Notifications Icon on the Upper - Left Corner of Facebook, It's the Earth thingy. Then a tab will come out. At the very bottom of the tab there is "See All Notifications" Click on it then, to the right is the list of programs you have used on your facebook account then You can check whatever you want to have notified with any program. Go to your notifications icon on the left side and hit it in the bottom you will see (see all notifications) and hit it you will find on the left hand 'show notifications' received and sent by me and fill the blank !!
