Is it weird to friend request my boyfriend's mom on facebook?

Today was the first time I actually had a casual conversation with his mom. It wasn't awkward at all and we talked just like we were friends. Later, I noticed that she commented on a post on I put on my boyfriend's wall. And I am wondering if I should request her or not.

To friend somebody on fb generally means "we know each other through social channels." I don't see a reason not to.

There's nothing wrong with sending her a friend request. I have most of my in laws on my list. The ones I don't have are the ones who don't have an account.
