How can you tell if someone ignored/denied your friend request on facebook?

I sent 2 friend requests on facebook last week and haven't gotten any notification that they accepted my request obviously. Anyway, whenever I look at their profile, the "friend request" box is greyed out. I guess they just haven't gotten around to it? Because if they did ignore/deny my request, that "friend request button" should not be greyed out?

If it says "Awaiting friend request" and you see their profile photo change, they most likely denied it. Fb has it to where it'll just say awaiting forever even though it means they rejected you.

If they are your friends then you know they accepted you. Otherwise they didn't or ignored you.
