Now that we are religiously less intelligent does our political morals suffer?
People tend to worship facebook and twitter; or twatter as i like to call it. Do you think that quiet contemplation is absent? Faith in anything is absent.
The way i see it people now are far too self-obsessed. Ads |

What do you mean by "religiously less intelligent"?
Usually, people who do not believe in a god are more intelligent. I suspect that in many ways, the world is a more moral place than ever it has been. Across the world as a whole violence is, apparently, in decline. The world has more and better social care now than for most countries for most of history. When would you rather have lived - now or 500 years ago? Ads |

I feel strongly about doing every single thing I can do to save Freedom. Unfortunately, there are so many who don't realize what they are losing. I never thought I would see the hate and contempt here that is so prevalent in the Middle East. I hate that we are fighting each other, but there is an element in this new Obamasociety that has been taught to hate. Quiet Contemplation is pleasant, but reality is waiting as soon as we snap out of it. Hang in there. The future is counting on that.

"religiously less intelligent" - do you mean agnostically amoral?
Intelligent people know you cant' spend far more than you make without consequences. The Leftists apparently don't see this, which proves their intelligence level. American is right - We need to regain Virtue and Morality instead of Security and Welfare which will eventually enslave the population to a massive government that controls every aspect of life, even death. The Founding Fathers were Extremely Intelligent! Only a Virtuous People are Capable of Freedom http://1elearn.com/nccs/lesson_6.html |

INTELLIGENCE
There is no such thing as ‘religiously less intelligent’. Once can be ‘religiously less knowledgeable’ however. One does not need to be intelligent in order to acquire religious knowledge. One needs merely to keep reading religious text in order to gain religious knowledge Storing information in your brain’s memory bank is not a function that requires intelligence. Solving difficult math problems or science problems requires intelligence. If you have convinced yourself that storing plenty of religious text in your memory is a sign of intelligence I hate to inform you but, you really aren’t that bright. If merely reading this analysis is tiring for you then take it as a second sign that you are not that bright. |

Morality existed long before any particular faith - the idea that if we stop believing in God we'll all become murderers and rapists is nonsense. After all, look at how many people who profess to be religious go on to commit horrible crimes. We have morals and abide by the rules because that's what we need to do to successfully live in any community - whether we spend Sunday in Church or on Twitter, that won't change.

People probably are too self obsessed.
What that's actually got to do with religion or the lack of it I have no idea. Morality and common sense do not flow from religion since religions are without exception the product of humans and almost by definition that means someone somewhere is getting rich, or powerful, or both on the back of it. I contemplate. I have been known to meditate. I neither desire nor require belief in any deity to achieve total calmness and I find it strange that anyone actually would. |
