How do you stop a relationship being 'double standard'?
My boyfriend is instantly annoyed if my ex husband texts me for whatever reason (we have a young son together so it's nothing suspicious) and gets annoyed if I am on Facebook or Twitter meanwhile he texts and even accepts phone calls from his ex girlfriend and is constantly on social networking sites to his friends regardless of if we are at home or even in a resturaunt. What can I do to stop this?

Dump him. You can't control HIM - you can only control what you DO. And this guy is in touch with his inner jealous irrational jerk.

Well honestly, if it were me I would make sure he knows it's just not acceptable. I wouldn't start an argument, just firmly say something like
"I have to talk to him, we have a child together, you knew this when you got with me. If you don't trust me either deal with it or you know where the door is. My child is important to me and communication with his father is essential. Grow up." And don't say it in a pleading sort of way, just say it as if he's a stroppy teenager, because he's certainly behaving like one. And with regards to the social networking sites, again just tell him to grow up. What is this guys problem? If he's like this all the time - in my opinion - he's a controlling arrogant pig (sorry no offense I know he obviously means something to you) He has to accept that you have friends other than him and you're entitled to talk to whoever the hell you want to, including your son's father. Don't let him walk all over you. Relationships are a two way thing. If he can't accept that then I'm sorry but he shouldn't be in one. |
