What does the little symbol next to a facebook notification mean?
A girl I haven't talked to in over a year posted something and it showed up in my notifications.. I wasn't tagged in it either... The symbol looked like a little newspaper with a star next to it.. I know for a fact that I don't have her in a list.. So what does that mean?

Facebook could have put her under the close friends list, automatically. Try checking if she's under that, because i randomly started getting notifications from random people about them posting a status update, or whatever, and i didn't even put them in the close friends tab.

it means they annouced it. Facebooks new feature lets people annouce things when someone post a update so that everyone in their news feed see's the post. For girls, its a new attention seeking feature....
