please explain tumblr to me. Is it like a diary of your everyday life? can anybody see the blog?

I like to take pictures of things I see each day. Do people remark about what I write or take photos of?

do I make a special blog name that I use all the time?
also, I don't want friends on twitter or facebook to see my blog just other people

you can create another Facebook or Twitter or any thing else, does require new email setup, accounts ,
