Just start up some normal chat. "How've you been?", "You look great!", "I haven't seen you in so long, i hope you've been well!" are some good ways to start a conversation.

and facebook is still a pretty good way to keep in touch. Write on her wall, or comment some pictures [but not too many].

You could also ask if she wanted to hang out. Get a small group of friends [like, 4, including yourself, so 3 others.] Invite her along. And say she can bring a friend if she likes, so things are more comfortable.

Find something you have in common and expand upon it, (like, I really hate that algebra teacher, far too much homework, I think I need help. Did you get...) then try and meet up in a small group, stay "around" her, but don't follow her everywhere you go ( if you make yourself too available, she'll become uninterested.) And then afterwords invite her to something more personal. (like you want to go back to my place to study, or you want to go out and eat?)

oh a gig?, a slang word means someone special to you but you aren't together, hhhmmm???? just say you miss her, there's nothing wrong with that, or hang out with her, say you like her. i think your nice, she won't reject you!. or get to know her friends first, then when your already close to her friends try to hangout with them.
