What can I do to help the people in Chile?
I would really love to help the people in Chile after the 8.8 magnitude earthquake. But I do not want to donate money through organizations. I just can not trust the organizations on how much actually money is going to be helping them. I feel like when you donate money through organizations, only part of the money I donated reach out, and the rest goes to the organization pocket.... Is there anyway?

Pray to GOd and ask for Forgvieness.
Money is only a Material..Thing you cant bring that to Heaven.
Prayer is the Most important of All.especially when it comes from your heart..when you believe.Magic will happens...

do you realize how rare this happens? don't let those few cases and stereotypes scare you. I'm a philanthropist and I keep donating to oxfam, cambodian children's fund, concern worldwide and they all do a wonderful job. watch some videos from them.

praying to god won't help. it's just a myth. donating will help. pocket filling is just a stereotype. only stupid people believe that. what would happen if bill gates wouldn't pledge $10 billion for the vaccines?

Don't try to help the people in Chile, they don't need it. Yes, I know that sounds arrogant and selfish of me to say, but it is true. Of all the countries in the world, Chile is one of the best prepared countries in the world for dealing with earthquakes.

Emergency groups in Chile are already responding and power and water is already being restored to people who lost it in the quake. The streets are already being cleared and survivors are found much quicker here than they were in Haiti.

I am in Argentina and all I am hearing is that Chile can handle this situation. So far as I know, they have not asked for any outside help.

Your money or your time, is much better spent trying to help Haiti who is still trying to clean up more than a month after it's earthquake. Whereas in Chile, life will probably return to normal within a week.

Well, other than traveling down to Chile, you have to go through some sort of organization. I would suggest an in-country organization with a good reputation, like Cruz Roja or Hogar Cristiano. They are Chile's largest charities.

But if you want your money going to the best possible place, donate your money to the Haiti fund. 85 cents goes a lot farther in Haiti than it does in Chile. I just spent a few hours talking to my relatives in Chile on Skype and facebook and it is not nearly as bad as Haiti
