How do i block other users notifications on Facebook?

I have two users who are friends on my Facebook profile that litter my home page with constant notifications regarding their Farmville/Pets/Gifts applications and i'm finding them really annoying as i couldn't care less what they've done, added or changed about them!

What do i do to block these appearing on my Home page?

I'm not looking to delete their profiles from my friends list because i talk to them through Facebook.

On the top right hand side of a home page notification, the message "Hide" will appear. If you press it, it will ask you "Hide So-and-so" or "Cancel"

This will remove them form your wall

Whenever you see farmville, mafia wars, mobsters, etc post put your mouse in the top right corner of it and a "hide" button should come up. From there you can click on it and hide certain apps without hiding your friends.
