If you know his name, I recommend Facebook or Myspace.

Start with your birth certificate and see what their full names are and the location of your birth and any other information that you can glean.
Put that information into the search engines and see what you come up with.
That should be a start.
Good luck in your search.
Don't spend money on card readers.
They aren't always accurate and they will want you to spend more money on them.
Again, Good Luck.

It sounds as if you have at least one document from Mexico that has some relatives listed on it. Your document is a great starting point since it should also have the city and state. One key to finding someone in Mexico, or anywhere else, is location. Chances are good that some relatives may still be living in the city in Mexico where you were baptized.

Now the not so good news. Despite many web sites that say you can find someone in Mexico for free, most, if not all, are just looking to bring traffic to their site so they can offer some other service, not a free way to find someone in Mexico. Most of those sites are bogus.

Using the Internet to find someone in Mexico can work but it's challenging. About 96% of the people living in Mexico are NOT online. There is no master web site where you can put in a person's name and get their address in Mexico. There used to be such a web site, but it's been gone for several years.

My best advice is to use a few search engines like Google.com, Yahoo.com, Bing.com and Dogpile.com. Enter the names that you have. Each search engine gives a different listing so you may find something that way. If that doesn't work, try MySpace and Facebook. Don't spend hours searching online. If you have tried the Internet for an hour or two with no success, then it's highly unlikely that you will find the person you are searching for online. As I mentioned, most people in Mexico are not on the Internet.

If none of these ideas works, then my recommendation is to look for a professional service that can help you. There is at least one in the U.S. Yes, using a professional service means you will have to pay. However, understand that there is only so much you can do with the Internet for free when it comes to finding relatives in Mexico. But first try the search engines and social media sites. Good luck.
