What do you think Face Book is for?

So my man's mother is pissed that I vent about my personal problems on my facebook page to my friends and family members. She called me a "sad, lonely human being for doing such a thing b/c facebook is ment to stay in touche with family members, not to air your dirty laundry. I know face book was originally meant for college students, and has now become a socializing site. What do you think it's for? (There's no right or wrong answer.)

A January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as the most used social networking service by worldwide monthly active users, followed by MySpace.[8] Entertainment Weekly included the site on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, saying, "How on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers' birthdays, bug our friends, and play a rousing game of Scrabulous before Facebook?"[9] Quantcast estimates Facebook has 135.1 million monthly unique U.S. visitors in October 2010.[10] According to Social Media Today, in April 2010 an estimated 41.6% of the U.S. population had a Facebook account.[11]

It is for internet socializing. I would not put personal problems on there. Everybody doesn't need to know about my personal problems.
