how to stop facebook messages from going to my main inbox on blackberry?

i have a bb pearl, i just downloaded the NEW facebook for mobile. my facebook notifications are now sending to my facebook icon and into my main message inbox. there not sending as an email or a text, there actually sending to both wit hthe facebook icon in the top corner.
i just dont want them in my main message inbox but would still like to recieve them in my facebook app.
help!

That used to annoy me too!

Under Settings, go to Account Settings and click on Notifications. You can uncheck the boxes so you won't have to get e-mails for every single thing. The notifications will still show up on your actual facebook account when you log in.
