How to convince my parents to let me get Facebook ?

I want a Facebook account but my dad is so much against it. I don't know why. My mum says that she wants one and asked us if we wanted one. She said you have to ask your father. I dont know why he is so against it. I have never done anything wrong on the computer. Everyone at school has one. Any ideas on what to say

Ask your Father why he is against it? Let him choose the settings. So you want one because of peer pressure? I used to have one and ended up cancelling it. If you can't talk face to face with friends at school, then you don't want to hide behind a monitor and hear what they say about you or you say about them, it can turn out to be cyber bullying?
