How can I permanently close my Facebook account?
I want to close my personal account, which I have never used and never will use (I was just experimenting to see what is involved and how Facebook works), and then open an account for my business. Is that possible? I've researched this issue on the Internet but can't find a method that works. Thank you.

Log into Facebook, click the Account link in the top-right corner. From the drop down menu, click Account Settings to open the account settings page. The last item in the page is 'Deactivate Account'. Click that to close your account.

You can only deactivate the account but it can't be deleted. It will activate again if you log on.
